HandsOffOurParks.Org was specifically created to raise awareness about the alienation of parkland in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx for the building of a multi-billion dollar chemical treatment/filtration plant for Croton water. It was also created to inform about the potential precedent that will put other valuable parkland at risk of community-harming, unnecessary development.
